Robert Arnoux Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes 2002 (demi)
There is no purple left here, the color is red and light to rim with less clarity and brilliance that is usual for this domaine, but bottlings here are neither fined nor filtered.
Rose incense and lots of red fruits with black pepper in the nose here. A red berry fruit salad with touches of ginger and orange rind like an Echezeaux aromatic profile (Echezeaux is a grand cru that is famous for giving orange rind flavors to the wines that are made from its terroir.)
The mouth has a lot of energy- driven by highly strung Framboise and smoky ginger with grated orange peal. An exciting wine for the vintage and the marriage with the Echine de Cochon Noir au sarments de vigne avec Barigoule de legumes at the Montrachet restaurant is perfect (because the dish needs an acid wine and it is not scared of spicy!)
